Disclaimer
We work hard to make our London guides accurate and up to date, but we cannot guarantee that every detail is correct at the moment you read it. This page explains the limits of our responsibility and what you should always check yourself.
General information, not advice
The content on Guide-to-London.net is general travel information. It is not legal, medical, financial or immigration advice, and it does not take your personal circumstances into account. Decisions you make based on our guides are your own.
Prices, fares and opening times
Prices and times are checked against official sources and dated, but they can change at short notice. Transport for London normally changes fares once a year, attractions change prices and opening hours with the seasons, and special events can close venues or stations. Always check the current price and opening times on the operator's own website before you travel, and book in advance where the operator recommends it.
Entry requirements and customs
Entry rules for the United Kingdom, including the Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) and visa requirements, are set by the UK government and depend on your nationality and the purpose of your trip. Our guides describe the general rules and link to the official pages on GOV.UK. The official information always takes precedence. Check it before you book, and again before you travel. Only use the official government website or app to apply for an ETA or a visa.
Health and safety
Our guides to healthcare, pharmacies and emergencies are general information based on the NHS and other official sources. In an emergency in the UK, call 999. For urgent medical advice that is not an emergency, use NHS 111. Nothing on this site replaces advice from a doctor, pharmacist or other health professional. Travel insurance is your own responsibility.
Our safety advice is based on guidance from the police and other authorities. It cannot cover every situation. Use your own judgement, follow instructions from staff and the police, and check official travel advice from your own government.
Transport and driving
Transport services can be disrupted by engineering works, strikes and incidents. Check Transport for London or National Rail on the day. If you drive, you are responsible for knowing and following UK traffic law and for paying charges such as the Congestion Charge and ULEZ correctly and on time.
Outdoor activities
Parks, heaths, rivers, beaches and cliff paths carry natural risks. Follow local signs and warnings, keep a safe distance from cliff edges and wild animals, and swim only where and when it is permitted.
Links to other websites
We link to official sources and other websites for your convenience. We are not responsible for the content, availability or privacy practices of those websites, and a link does not mean that we endorse a business. Be careful with unofficial websites that imitate government services and charge extra fees.
Advertising
Advertisements on the site are placed by Google AdSense. We do not choose or endorse the products and services advertised, and we are not responsible for advertisers' offers. Check any offer carefully before you buy.
Errors and corrections
If you find a mistake, please let us know. We check every report and correct errors promptly. See our editorial policy for how we work.
